A Bestseller List Filled with 12 Stunning Authors (2025)

I’m starting a new series highlighting authors on any bestseller list and writers I can admit to being a devoted follower. I often order these bestsellers before their book covers have been released online–these authors have made the bestseller list for their creative talents, and many have created storylines that have stayed with me for a long time. I hope you give these authors a chance and find inspiration in them! Each month, I’ll dive into each author’s books, which ones stood out, and honestly, which ones I make my friends and family read because they are so great!

  1. Abby Jimenez: A Minnesota native (yeah, girl!) and New York Times bestseller author who writes funny, romantic comedies. She’s been on several bestseller lists, but she’ll always be a native favorite with her mentions of the Twin Cities area and our landmarks.
  2. Graeme Simison: An international author who writes the Don Tillman trilogy, which starts with The Rosie Project, is one of my favorite authors. It follows the aforementioned Tillman, a scientist on the spectrum, who meets Rosie, an extroverted PhD student, because she failed his matchmaking questionnaire. It’s one of the funniest books to be on the bestseller list!
  3. Mariana Zapata: A beloved romantic comedy author who has written critically acclaimed novels such as The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, From Lukov with Love, and All Rhoades Lead to Here.
  4. Louise Penny: A global bestseller—my mom and I love Louise Penny’s books. She is known for her Inspector Armand Gamache series, set in the quaint Quebec town of Three Pines. The series is full of mystery, layered characters, and heartfelt relationships.
  5. Susan Elizabeth Phillips: The Chicago Stars series might be one of my favorites. Following each football player and their hilarious meet-cute. Stay tuned; I have a deep dive into my favorites in the series–there are many.
  6. Alice Clayton: The Hudson Valley trilogy follows three friends who experience small-town charm, public romance commotion, and a sisterhood of friends.
  7. Taylor Jenkins Reid: I love this author so much. I buy her hardbacks (and I’m a softback devotee), but her stories are too good to wait for, especially my favorites like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Daisy Jones and the Six, and Malibu Rising.
  8. Emily Henry: In the last 10 years, Emily Henry has become a national bestseller, and I don’t know anyone who reads her books and is disappointed. I don’t know how it happens, but I always read an Emily Henry novel on vacation. Her books are great to fall into; you root for her characters in books likPeople We Meet on Vacation and Beach Lovers.
  9. Helen Hoang: An author I’ve already covered, but a great, funny author everyone enjoys. The Kiss Quotient is one of the funniest books, thanks to its satirical writing and badass female characters.
  10. Jojo Moyes: A global bestseller who is so crafty in describing characters and real-world problems, and some of her books have stayed with me decades later.
  11. Kristin Hannah is the best historical fiction bestseller from the female perspective in the 21st century. Hannah has written some of the best books you can read about what women experienced in World War II, the Vietnam War, and children of PTSD parents.
  12. Jacqueline Winspear: I read a book from the Maisie Dobbs series every time I travel out of the country. Why? It feels good to read about a different culture and time and grasp how far women in history have come. This murder mystery series features colorful personalities, unique cases, and characters you’ll root for until the end!

This bestseller list is more than just one of many series I’ll be doing in 2025. I can’t wait to read more great books and add to the list. I also can’t wait to see what you think of this list and who I may have missed. To keep up with the latest author highlights, subscribe and give this blog a like!
